Triple Threat 3
I've already told you about my opponent, Lenoir City
councilman's speech at the GOP event,
A Little Too Fast. But also in
attendance were the other two that make up the triple threat to Loudon
County. Mr. Matlock and Ms. Hurley were also on hand to speak.
The high point for Ms. Hurley was when she was explaining that her priority for her next term was to get back the 15% of the Adequate Schools Facilities Tax the county took away from the city schools and gave to the county schools. Problem is, there was only a 2.5% shift from the city schools to the county schools. Maybe she just got confused and stated the wrong number. That wasn't it. She was confronted with her misstatement after her speech as she was leaving the meeting. She was reminded that the shift was just 2.5% not 15%. She said, I know but 15% sounds better. So just like Mr. Simpson, the truth means nothing. Just say anything. Mr. Matlock told the audience a lot about his achievements and then went on to describe plans he has come up with that make no since. You'll just have to listen to it. I think a good plan would be to pay his back property taxes and comply with county zoning policies. We just can't let these three anywhere near county policies or tax dollars. Below are links to download the two speeches if you want to listen to them. |
