Yes I Am
Below is the letter my opponent, Lenoir City
councilman, Eddie Simpson, is passing out to voters in order to get
elected. His first question is, "IS MY OPPONENT SCARED". Yes I am. I'm
very scared that someone like Eddie Simpson could ever become a county
commissioner and do to Loudon County what he has done to Lenoir City.
At least, and without even meaning to, Simpson admits to everything I have reported about him.
Please note that he doesn't even try to deny his record. Of course not, how could he? He says, "I will remain Eddie Simpson just as you know me to be". I think that's what scares the majority of us the most. And yes, the city property tax rate has been .99 for a long time, but if Simpson and the council hadn't voted for four property tax increases, the rate would be much lower. And finally, I guess he is insinuating that I have been destroying his signs? Given his history, I'd say he's messing up his own signs in hopes to gain some kind of voter sympathy. I have given Mr. Simpson many opportunities to point out any lie I may have told on him. He's never done it before and doesn't even do it in his own newsletter. He just makes baseless claims. He does say he has "never done anything against the people". I would say all the tax increases did something to the people. Rather than making up stories that aren't true and making crazy, baseless accusations, why doesn't he take me on on my voting record? Please, let's compare. Why is he afraid to talk about his voting record? I remember, not too long ago, we had a president that the left said was a bully and had to go, how's that working out. How does reporting on Simpson's record make me a bully? Besides, it wasn't me that threatened to punch him in the nose. So, who's really the bully? |
