Woman jailed after teen nearly overdoses

A Lenoir City woman was arrested Dec. 23 for contributing to the delinquency of a minor and other drug charges.

Lenoir City Police Department was dispatched to a residence on Crooked Oak Drive in response to the overdose of a 15-year-old male. Cody Fritts, 9th Judicial Drug Task Force agent, met homeowner Amanda Lynne Gompf, 32, at the residence. Gompf told Fritts the juvenile had taken methamphetamine and heroin. She said the boy had gone to the bathroom before coming back to the living room and passing out, Fritts wrote in a report.

Gompf told Fritts she provided the boy and his juvenile sister beer before officers arrived.

Fritts saw digital scales in plain view on the kitchen counter.

DTF agents and LCPD officers executed a narcotics search warrant at Gompf’s home. In Gompf’s closet, agents found a burnt spoon with cotton, one empty baggie and two baggies of fentanyl totaling 2.1 grams. Under the mattress, agents found a burnt spoon with cotton. In a drawer in Gompf’s makeup room, agents found a plate with an empty baggie. Above the washing machine, agents found an uncapped syringe, according to a report.

Gompf was charged with two counts of contributing to the delinquency of a minor, manufacture, sale, delivery, resale of a Schedule II substance and possession of drug paraphernalia and held on $36,000 bond.

Pair found with drugs, gunsA Knoxville duo found themselves under arrest Friday on several drug charges.

LCPD Officer Andrew Lee was dispatched to a gas station to investigate a reckless driver after reports of poor driving were called in to dispatch. Lee, along with LCPD Officer Aaron Bialek, found an unoccupied car at a gas pump. After a couple got in the car and drove off, Lee initiated a traffic stop, according to a report.

Lee talked with driver Robin Starr Portillo, 32, and passenger Terrick Lamar Godbolt, 29. Portillo told Lee she did not have a valid license and her car was uninsured.

While speaking with the pair, Lee smelled a strong odor of marijuana coming from the car. Godbolt admitted to having marijuana “roaches,” but both said there were no other illegal substances or weapons in the car, Lee wrote in a report.

Lee found a handgun magazine with ammunition and digital scales inside the driver door panel. He also found a Sig Sauer handgun and ammunition in the glovebox. The weapon had previously been reported stolen out of Morristown.

As Lee was placing restraints on Godbolt, Bialek saw a small, zippered pouch at his feet. The pouch contained 7.5 grams of methamphetamine, 0.9 grams of fentanyl and 1.1 grams of marijuana. Lee also found $375 that was believed from illegal drug sales, he wrote in a report.

Several small baggies believed to be used for the sale of drugs were found. Portillo told Lee she was not aware of the handgun in the car, but Lee found a spare Sig Sauer P365 magazine in her purse.

Portillo was charged with theft of property, possession of a firearm during a dangerous felony, manufacture, sale, delivery, resale of a Schedule II substance, simple possession/casual exchange, possession of drug paraphernalia, manufacture, delivery, sale or possession of meth and driving without a valid license and held on $88,000 bond.

Godbolt was charged with theft of property, tampering/fabricating with evidence, possession of a firearm during a dangerous felony, manufacture, sale, delivery, resale of Schedule II substance, simple possession/casual exchange, possession of drug paraphernalia and manufacture, delivery, sale or possession of meth and held on $116,000 bond.
