Woman charged with murder in
drug death
A Knoxville woman has been charged with murder in the suspected drug overdose death of a local man. Jessica Nicole Gambrell, 34, was served an arrest warrant Sept. 13 by deputies with the Loudon County Sheriffs Office and transported to the Loudon County Jail.
According to an affidavit from LCSO, the offices narcotics
unit responded June 16 to a report of a man who died
following a possible drug overdose. Investigators found a
syringe and other items in the mans pocket.
The mans cellphone was
collected and data extracted. A text conversation June 15
between the man and another number led investigators to
Gambrell. The text conversation begins at 6:04 p.m. when
Gambrell responds asking if anything was needed. Texts back
indicate the man has 30 if there was a good bit for him,
and Gambrell affirms.
According to the report, no other messages indicate conversation with anyone regarding drug activity. Investigators were told by a family member of the man that he returned home at 8 p.m. An autopsy has cause of death listed as fentanyl overdose, and the toxicology report shows fentanyl as the only illicit drug in the mans system. Investigators allege the man purchased a schedule II drug from Gambrell, which resulted in the mans death. Gambrell was charged with second-degree murder and held on $500,000 bond. Sept. 4 Brenda Danielle Price, 41, Lenoir City, was charged with manufacture, delivery, sale or possession of methamphetamine and held on $10,000 bond. Corey Wade Price, 43, Loudon, was charged with capias-general sessions and violation of probation and held on $15,000 bond. Roberto Sarmiento Jr., 29, Sweetwater, was charged with false reports/statements, leaving the scene of an accident with property damage, no drivers license, reckless driving and reckless endangerment and released on $11,500 bond. Scott Edward Stockton, 49, Oliver Springs, was charged with driving on roadways laned for traffic, driving under the influence, driving with a suspended/revoked license, failure to show proof of insurance and violation of implied consent and released on $4,000 bond. Charles Dewayne Taylor Jr., 34, Lenoir City, was charged with violation of probation and released on $1,000 bond. Sept. 5 Timothy Allen Ashburn, 66, Greenback, was charged with violation of the sex offender registry and released on $5,000 bond.

released on $1,500 bond.
John Mitchell Grubb, 38, Lenoir City, was charged with manufacture, sell, delivery, resale of schedule II drugs, possession of drug paraphernalia and violation of probation and held on $17,000 bond. Alyse Lynn Hixson, 33, Lenoir City, was charged with public intoxication and released on $283 bond. Seth Reese Howe, 22, Friendsville, was charged with theft of property and released on $2,000 bond.
