Woman charged after firing at
vehicle
A Lenoir City woman is in custody after firing a weapon multiple times at a vehicle. Loudon County Sheriffs Office Deputy James Davis responded to a home June 18 and talked with a man who said Kelley Denise Watkins, 43, and another man got into an argument and the man left before Davis arrived.
Davis
and the first man found Watkins in a bedroom with a gun,
which was then removed from her possession. Watkins
threatened to shoot herself with the weapon. Watkins was
intoxicated and reportedly had taken multiple Xanax,
according to the report.
Davis reached by phone the man that Watkins had argued with and asked that he come back to the residence. When the man returned, Davis saw a small cut on the mans forehead. The man told Davis the couple had been arguing about a stolen purse, and Watkins began to slap him in the face. Watkins then chased the man out of the residence with a pistol, the man told the deputy. When exiting the residence, the man stumbled and hit a railing along some steps. He said Watkins then began shooting the weapon at a white vehicle near him and initially thought she was shooting at the man as he ran down the driveway. Watkins told Davis she shot at a white vehicle as the man stood by a gold vehicle. She later told law enforcement officers that she missed the man. Six shell casings were found near the gold vehicle. Watkins was transported to Fort Loudoun Medical Center for treatment. On June 29, Davis returned to the residence to find Watkins, who was then taken into custody.
