News Herald Arrest report
Window tint violations lead to
drug bust
Two
men were arrested Friday on drug charges after being pulled
over for window tint and vehicle light violations.
Lenoir City Police Officer Riley Miller pulled over a white Mercedes-Benz for overly tinted windows and the drivers side headlight being out. The driver, David Lee Coleman, 57, Maryville, and passenger, Christopher Terry Crandall, 28, Lenoir City, exited the vehicle after pulling over, according to a report. While the men spoke with Miller, a needle was found on the ground near Crandall. Miller asked Crandall if the needle belonged to him. Crandall said the needle was his, and he forgot it was in his pocket, so he dropped it on the ground. Crandall said he had used the needle earlier that day to inject methamphetamine, Miller wrote in a report.
Coleman told
Miller there was nothing illegal inside the car and gave
permission for a search. Officers found a glass pipe and
a medicine bottle containing two baggies of meth
totaling 8.3 grams.
Coleman and Crandall were mirandized separately and agreed to talk. Crandall said the two had come from a motel in Lenoir City where three people who were later identified were staying in a room and selling meth. Crandall said he didnt know Coleman had the meth in the car at the time of the traffic stop, Miller wrote in a report. Coleman corroborated Crandalls story about being at the motel but said he couldnt remember the names of the three individuals staying in the room. He said while they were at the motel, two to four additional people had shown up and left. He said they were there for about 45 minutes. Coleman told officers he does use meth and smokes it from a glass pipe. He was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and manufacture, delivery, sale or possession of meth and held on $32,000 bond. Crandall was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and held on $1,000 bond. Teens arrested after camper break-inTwo Lenoir City teens were arrested Thursday on various charges relating to breaking and entering, alcohol and drugs. Loudon County Sheriffs Office Deputy William Brown was dispatched to a home at Woodlawn Road to investigate the break-in of a fifth-wheel camper. The owner told Brown someone had pried open the door and had been living in it. The bathroom vent, DVD player and master bed were broken, according to a report.
The owner told
Brown he had given Jason Nicholas-Henry Ford-Snyder,
18, permission to stay in a small camper parked next
to his fifth-wheel camper. According to the owner,
Ford-Snyder had a friend, Jacob Lee Brewington, 18,
who entered the fifth-wheel camper illegally.
Brewington left his truck parked next to the camper,
but the two were gone.
When Ford-Snyder and Brewington returned, Brown asked if they had been inside the fifth-wheel camper. Ford-Snyder admitted he had. Brewington initially denied the charge but eventually admitted guilt. Brown and the owner went into the camper where two bongs, a glass bulb used to smoke narcotics and an empty 1.75 liter Svedka vodka bottle were discovered. Ford-Snyder declined to speak after being mirandized. Brewington agreed to talk but denied any knowledge of the paraphernalia or alcohol. He said he had been staying in the small camper while Ford-Snyder had been staying in the fifth-wheel camper for nearly two days. Ford-Snyder was charged with aggravated burglary, vandalism, possession of drug paraphernalia and violation of alcoholic beverage laws and held without bond. Brewington was charged with aggravated burglary, vandalism, possession of drug paraphernalia and violation of alcoholic beverage laws and held without bond. Jan. 4
