What's The Motive?

What’s the motive behind overdevelopment???

Tennessee and local Republicans would be wise to listen to Donald Trump that there is a war on the suburbs and single family detached zoning. He has been warning about this for over 5 years. The Democrats push high-density housing and renters to grow their voter base.

Republicans are the party of ownership and we should be encouraging home ownership. High-density housing has its place—downtown, near city centers, or along corridors—but not within or adjacent to single-family neighborhoods, where it clashes with existing infrastructure and community character.

Building more apartments, especially luxury or “lifestyle” complexes, does not lower home prices, despite claims from local officials. Only increasing the supply of low-density, single-family homes reduces housing costs, aligning with basic supply-and-demand principles. Since 2019, most new housing in throughout Knox County has been multi-family or attached units, leading to higher rents due to premium apartments and higher home prices due to a reduced supply of single-family detached homes.

The attack on rural communities and so-called “sprawl” is globalist propaganda pushing green agenda policies and increased government control. The federal government is funneling billions to local officials to manipulate the housing market and prioritize multi-family and attached housing. No Democrat-run city has solved housing affordability by building more apartments—prices only drop when people no longer want to live there. Like Trump, Republicans must protect single-family zoning and suburban communities.

Tennesseans, beware of certain Republicans and right-of-center nonprofits who are pushing local communities to adopt high-density housing, eliminate single-family zoning, and restrict public input on housing developments.
