We're Delivering

After the results of the May election, Loudon County commission heard loud and clear from the voters how they wanted to see the county develop, slow controlled growth. We're delivering.

Since May, we have totally eliminated PUD's, Planned Unit Developments which allowed over development. Maximum density in the county now stands at two homes with standard setbacks.

At the September meeting, we will pass regulations that will prohibit duplexes and multi-family dwellings from being constructed unless public serer and water are available. The new regs will also require a minimum of  40,000 sq. ft. lots for duplexes and 20,000 sq. ft of property for each dwelling in a multi-family buildings.  This will go a long way in conserving property and open space. Unfortunately, the county has no control over the insane development being allowed by the Lenoir City mayor/council.

There are more changes coming that will offer even more protections to county residents and property owners.

I truly shutter to think what would have happened in the county if May's election had gone the other way.
