We Did That Too

After Monday's "We Did That" story, a number of you wrote to tell me, I forgot to mention the awful traffic issues Aikens and his teamwork crew has caused. You all were right.

By pure chance, I found a good picture on the internet of Hwy. 321 that shows what locals are having to deal, with on a daily basis, because of Lenoir City mayor, Tony Aikens, council members Mike Henline, Jennifer Wampler and Eddie Simpson's uncontrolled development. Obviously, the mayor and council have taken absolutely no steps to deal with infrastructure that is now overwhelmed by thousands of new apartments and homes that have been permitted under their non existing zoning regulations.

But never fear, Aikens has said many times he has a plan. He has repeatedly stated that TDOT was going to do red light synchronization along Hwy. 321. Apparently, the mayor thinks that's going to solve all the problems. Not sure how red light synchronization along Hwy. 321, is going to resolve traffic issues all over Lenoir City and the east end of Loudon County. Not sure how red light synchronization along Hwy. 321 is going to address over crowded schools, over taxed law enforcement, emergency services and so on.  But according to Aikens, red light synchronization along Hwy. 321, will really solve the problems.

Nothing will ever change in Lenoir City until something changes in Lenoir City.
