Vandalism results in assault
charge
A
Lenoir City man and woman were arrested Sunday after
vandalizing a gas station bathroom, assaulting an officer
and evading arrest.
A Lenoir City Police officer was in the parking lot of a convenience store when a clerk from the store alerted the officer a woman had just vandalized a restroom inside.
The officer watched a woman come out of the store and leave
with a man. The clerk identified the man as Ronald Gaston
Yarbrough III, 32, who had previously been banned from the
store for leaving drug paraphernalia in the restroom and
vandalizing one of the managers vehicles. Natasha Carolyn
Bright, 31, was identified as Yarbroughs girlfriend.
Clerks heard a
loud banging while Bright was in the restroom and later
discovered a large hole in the wall.
Two officers found
the pair walking north on railroad tracks near Maple
Street. Yarbrough and Bright then ran into the woods.
After one officer
located Yarbrough, he pushed the officer down and fled.
Yarbrough was later placed into custody by another
officer. Bright was found nearby.
During the chase,
the pair discarded a backpack. A small bag with a metal
spoon and needles was located inside the backpack.
Yarbrough was
charged with accessory after the fact, assault, criminal
responsibility for the conduct of another and possession
of drug paraphernalia and held on $37,000 bond.
Bright was charged
with evading arrest, possession of drug paraphernalia
and vandalism and held on $14,000 bond.
