Vacancy 2
At the last Loudon City council meeting, members
discussed the vacancy on the council after the sudden death of Bear
Webb. Mayor Jeff Harris and councilman Tim Dixon, suggested filling the
vacancy with someone to finish the term of Mr. Webb. Council members,
Eric Newman and John Cardwell preferred to leave the vacancy and allow
the election to take care of it.
According to city attorney, Kris Frye, given the closeness of the November election and there was no way to hold a special election, as the charter requires, council could fill the vacancy or not. It wasn't clear if there would be a vote on the matter at the next council meeting. Below is a link to the council video. The discussion begins about the 1:03 mark in the meeting. |
