Triple Threat-1

The second mass mailer for my opponent, Lenoir City councilman Eddie Simpson and Julia Hurley hit mailboxes Monday. Just like the last one, this one was also paid for by the Building Industry Political Action Committee, AKA Home Builders Association of greater Knoxville.

This is just in your face now. They don't even try to hide it. The Building Industry Political Action Committee, AKA Home Builders Association of greater Knoxville, is literally spending tens of thousands of dollars to defeat me and other candidates because we don't bow to their demands. They are absolutely intent on destroying Loudon County as they have large sections of Knox County. All for the sake of the all mighty dollar.

Oddly, they didn't send a second mailer for Mark Matlock. Any guess I might make would be just speculation. Maybe he hasn't paid his dues like his property taxes? Maybe they know he's a lost cause? Maybe he was smart enough to know that getting support from outside special interests isn't a good look? Maybe it's coming later. I have no idea.

I suspect we'll see more mailers before the election is over.

Again, please share this information with anyone you can. There's no secret who Eddie Simpson, Julia Hurley and Mark Matlock will be supporting if they get elected. Please don't vote for any of these three if you have any desire to see Loudon County stay Loudon County.

This mailer for Simpson touts his accomplishments as road superintendent. Isn't paving and maintaining county roads his job? It's not as though he did it as a volunteer. He's raked in over 1.1 million dollars in tax payer funded salary as the road superintendent over his twelve years in the office. And everybody knows his staff and crews are who does the work while he spends a lot of his working day at Lenoir City hall. Trying to figure out ways to raise taxes on more people I guess. They also threw in that "Conservative Leader" title again. As I said before, when you've voted for as many tax increases as Eddie Simpson, you've pretty much given up your conservative card.

Ms. Hurley's mailer is really lacking anything locally specific. Apparently, no one can come up with anything she's actually done. I would challenge The Building Industry Political Action Committee, AKA Home Builders Association of greater Knoxville, in their next mailer to name one single accomplishment Ms. Hurley has as a county commissioner. She has zero. Of course, she's missed way more than half the commission meetings so that would make it hard to accomplish much of anything. However, she has continued draw her tax payer stipend and benefits.
