Transparency Countdown
Back on October 4th, I submitted a public records
request to Lenoir City administrator/records custodian, Amber Scott. My
request was for the current list of non residential storm water payers
and what they pay and for it to be sent to me by email. Seems like a
pretty simple request? Maybe a four or five page Word or Excel document,
open it, attach it and send. Grammar school kids could do it. But
apparently, this is a difficult process for city hall officials. 25 days later, I still haven't received the document requested. Couple weeks ago, I did get a letter from the city attorney telling me he was working with other officials to get my requested date. Now, 25 days later, still no Rain Tax update. There's a $90,000 city administrator, a $70,000 mayor, a $50,000 city attorney and a $44,000 storm water manager working on my request and still nothing. Wonder why? What do they not want you to see? This is your current city government at work. I'll keep the countdown clock going till I get the information. |
