Total Disaster 22

At last week's Lenoir City planning commission meeting, the board approved another mass development in the city called Erin Grove. The plan, proposed by DR Horton, would include 60 DR Horton Town Homes and 283 single family DR Horton homes. This property is the former Loudon County School Board property on Hwy. 321 going toward Interstate 40.

This is the third time this same property has been before the planning commission for consideration by three different developers. Even though the development was presented be DR Horton, the property is currently owned by Aleksandr Sergyevic Botezat of 4317 Ball Camp Pike, Knoxville. Botezat bought the property from the county school board in 2021 for $2,020,000.00.

While presenting the plat, the DR Horton representative was quick to tell the planning board that he had talked to "Tony Aikens" and he was OK with the plan. Apparently, that's a prerequisite for any development approvals in the city. In the last DR Horton development in the city, across the street from Kingston Pike Church, some how all the streets were named after Aikens family members. I'm sure that was purely a coincidence and Horton just picked those street names by chance. Nothing to see here, move along.

So the annihilation  of Lenoir City by mayor Tony Aikens and his loyal council, minus one, continues. Even though they know full well every city resident is sick of the over development and all the problems it brings.

Nothing in Lenoir City will ever change until something changes in Lenoir City.

The November election is coming.
