Total Disaster 15.1

In Lenoir City mayor, Tony Aikens, on going drive to destroy Lenoir City, another big step has been taken to that end. Last week, the developers of the 276 apartments, bought the 20 acres beside Food City for $4,350,000.00.

Earlier this year, Aikens and most of the council members voted to approve the massive apartment complex. Those voting for the apartment complex were council members, Mike Henline, Jennifer Wampler and Eddie Simpson, who by the way, are running for running for re-election along with Aikens. Aikens and all three council members were very supportive on the apartments.

No announcement as to when construction on the apartment complex might get underway, but just imagine the added traffic when it's done.

Even though the mayor and council have called for a one year moratorium on any more apartments, you can bet your button, if Aikens and his loyal council members get back in office, there will be no end to the mass development in the city, based on their previous actions.

And the question is always the same, WHY? Why would Tony Aikens want to bring all these low end apartments into Lenoir City? What's his motivation?
