Top 10 wanted fugitive in Loudon County shooting in
custody LENOIR CITY, Tenn. (WATE) - A man added to the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation's Top 10 Most Wanted list after a shooting late last month in Lenoir City is in custody. Loudon County Sheriff Tim Guider says James Michael Smith, 40, surrendered around 6 p.m. Friday evening and was processed into the jail on charges of attempted first degree murder, aggravated assault and aggravated child abuse. The Loudon County Sheriff's Office said Smith shot the victim on June 26 while they were sitting in two different cars at Riverview Manor Apartments on Industrial Park Drive in Lenoir City. The victim was conscious when he was airlifted. Deputies say a child was in the car when the shooting happened. |
