The time is here to start campaigning and I humbly ask for your vote & support for Lenoir city council. I hope to continue to do the work our city requires to oversee our future. Things are not easy because of someone who hates our city and is constantly attempting to sabotage our progress. I promise to be your voice in making us proud of where we have been to where we are today!

Apparently, Mr. Simpson didn't have the nerve to name who "someone who hates" is and I certainly can't say for sure who he was talking about, but here's a thought for Simpson.

Maybe "someone who hates" doesn't hate the city at all but actually loves the city but hates how Eddie Simpson, Tony Aikens, Mike Henline and Jennifer Wampler have worked to run the city into the ground. Maybe "someone who hates" is concerned that if the same people, who have run the city into the ground, get re-elected, they will continue the same policies and actions that have made such a mess of the city.

Maybe Mr. Simpson could tell the voters why he has voted for three property tax increases, the Rain Tax, two sales tax increases and a gas tax increase. Maybe Mr. Simpson could tell the voters why he has voted to permit thousands of low end apartments to locate in the city with no consideration on how so many rentals will effect the city.

No Mr. Simpson, please don't confuse opposition to your votes and policies as hatred toward Lenoir City. You and Tony Aikens, Henline and Wampler are not the city. The people are the city.

Nothing will ever change in Lenoir City until something changes in Lenoir City.
