Teen jailed for giving drugs to minors

A Knoxville woman was arrested Friday after providing drugs to minors.

Lenoir City Police Officer Riley Miller approached a black Honda Accord sitting in the Lenoir City Park parking lot with its interior lights on. Miller woke the female, a minor, “passed out asleep” in the passenger seat of the car, and she opened the door for him, Miller wrote in a report.

Miller smelled marijuana coming from the car and asked the girl if there was any marijuana. She told him her friends, Mackenzie Renee Kempton, 18, and a male minor, had it on the nearby dock.

Miller found Kempton and the boy before searching the car. He found 4.17 grams of marijuana inside Kempton’s purse and 37 tablets of LSD inside the car owner’s manual in the passenger-side floorboard, Miller wrote in a report.

Kempton claimed the marijuana was hers, but no one claimed the LSD. However, all three parties admitted to taking “1-2 tablets” and smoking marijuana while at the park. The male and female minors were transported to the Loudon County Juvenile Center.
Kempton was charged with possession of a Schedule VI substance, public intoxication, possession of a Schedule I substance and contributing to the delinquency of a minor and released on $4,000 bond.

Teen fights family, arrestedA Lenoir City teen was charged with domestic assault after a dispute with family turned violent.

Lenoir City Police Officer Scott Brewster responded to a call Saturday after Bailey Hope Elliott, 18, reported harassment. Elliott told Brewster she had been kicked out because her parents did not approve of her boyfriend.
Elliott said a male relative drove by her house “yelling and cursing and wanting to fight,” Brewster wrote in a report.
Brewster went to the home of Elliott’s parents to speak with relatives about the matter. After previously telling Elliott her boyfriend was not allowed on the property, Elliott and her boyfriend showed up. The couple was asked to leave and refused. A male relative pushed the boyfriend away from the doorway, and Elliott started hitting the relative in the head and face. Another female relative grabbed Elliott to stop her, so Elliott started hitting her as well, Brewster wrote in a report.
The man pretended to call the police, which prompted Elliott to leave. The two relatives had visible marks on their bodies and gave written statements to the police.
Elliott was charged with domestic assault-misdemeanor and released on $1,000 bond.
