The current 2016-2017 budget recommendation does not include a property tax increase however, there were a couple of provisions in the proposed budget that some commissioners were opposed to.

The discussion turned to the possibility of a property tax increase to balance the budget.

The new budget would require a 12 cent property tax increase for a balanced budget.

The commission will meet Monday, 6/27/16 at the Court House Annex at 6:00 to vote on the budget.

Commissioners could adopt the budget with no tax increase, increase taxes or take no action and go back and rework the proposed budget.
