Tony's Tax Hike Election
While everyone's attention is focused on the upcoming
March election then the August election, don't forget about Lenoir City
mayor Tony Aikens sales tax hike election coming in April.
While the Tax'em Tony could have included his tax hike election to the March election or the August election or the November election, at no cost to the city tax payers, he decided to hold a special, stand alone election just for his tax hike. His thinking must be that the turnout will be so low, he can get enough of his Tony cronies to vote for his tax hike to get it passed and that those opposed will forget about the election or just won't bother to turnout to vote. I don't think that will be the case. None the less, he opted to hold the special tax hike election just a month after the March election at an estimated cost of $20,000.00.
