SRO officer cheers up young student who missed pledge LOUDON COUNTY, Tenn. (WVLT) -- A young elementary school girl loves getting to school on time for a special reason, but one day she was late and missed her favorite part of the day. Thankfully, an SRO officer stepped in to save the day. The Loudon County Sheriff's Office said Monday that Lily, an elementary school student at Highland Park was late to school and missed her favorite part of the day, the Pledge of Allegiance. Seeing that she was upset, the sheriff's office said Deputy Ernie Brown approached the girl and recited the pledge with her. The sheriff's office shared the picture which has gotten a lot of attention on social media. A representative of the department said,"Cpl. Ernie Brown is always willing to do what it takes to keep the students and staff safe and happy at Highland Park Elementary. We are lucky to have such a dedicated officer!" |
