Loudon
County Highway Superintendent, Eddie Simpson, announced to his staff
Monday morning that he will be retiring at the end of this term in
office. He will not seek re-election in 2022.
Simpson was first elected to the office in 2010. At the end of this term, he will have held the position for twelve years. Simpson is also a Lenoir City councilman.
Loudon County Assistant Road Superintendent, Billy Pickle, has filed paperwork with the election commission to run for the office. Pickle has held the assistant position since 2012.
The election will be in May of 2022.
