Last week, former LCUB
employee, Tony Cansler, passed away after a long illness. Many of his
former coworkers from LCUB attended his burial to show support. The family wanted to thank those who attended. Thank you, to the men at LCUB, for honoring Tony Cansler today. He would have been so proud for his son to see that he was loved. . (In that last photo, Tony is standing on the backhoe.) April Cansler ------------------------------- Tony Edward Cansler age 51 of Lenoir City passed away Tuesday, August 29, 2023 at U. T. Medical Center. The Lord took him home after a 7 year battle with advanced kidney disease. Tony was a member of Woodlawn Baptist Church in Lenoir City. He was a former employee of Averitt Trucking where he was a truck driver for 21 years. Tony later worked at LCUB where he retired in 2018. He enjoyed drag racing and piddling with old cars and trucks. But his greatest joy was his family. Tony was dedicated to spending quality time with his beloved son, Ezra as they worked together building their new home. Tony loved his bulldogs, Mack and Diesel, who will miss their truck rides. He was preceded in death by his mother, Linda Kay Cansler; grandmother, Luna Stevens. Survived by his wife, April Cansler; son, Ezra Cansler; father, Willard “Doc” Cansler; sisters, Teresa Goddard and Lorie Jo Raby; special aunts, Mary Hatcher and Freda Limburg along with his large loving family. Tony’s family wishes to express their appreciation for the loving support of Knoxville Kidney Center for the past 22 years. The family received friends from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Thursday, August 31st at Woodlawn Baptist Church in Lenoir City. Funeral services followed at 7 p.m. with Rev. David Latham officiating. Family and friends gathered at 10 a.m. on Friday at Woodlawn Cemetery for graveside services. Serving as pallbearers: Eddie Browder, Johnny McConkey, Caleb Spangler, Simon Spangler, Thad Spangler, and Reiss Stanley. Tony’s brother, Dewayne Hall will serve as Honorary Pallbearer.
