Seat Filled
After discussing their options
of whether to call a special election or appoint someone to fill the
vacant council seat after Tim Brewster resigned, the Loudon City council
chose to appoint. The special election was estimated to cost
$10,000.00-$15,000.00. Councilwoman Tammy Bivens made the motion for Admiral "Bumper" Webster, seconded by councilman Tim Dixon. Councilman Johnny James and mayor Jeff Harris also voted for Webster. Bivens had stated earlier in the meeting that Mr. Webster had stated that he has no intent to run for the seat next year but would fill the seat till that election. The appointment will be till November 2022. |
