Schools & Liquor
Dan Bell, owner and operator of the Daily Edition,
has announced that he will be circulating two different petitions to be
considered in the November Lenoir City election. Bell said he will be working to get enough signatures on his petition to have the question of allowing liquor stores to operate in Lenoir City. He will need 209 signatures of Lenoir City registered voters, 10% of the total number of city residents who voted in the last governor's race. If he gets the required signatures, the question will be placed on the November ballot. His second petition is a bit different. The petition asks the city council to place the question of eliminating the Lenoir City school system by combining it with the Loudon County school system. Only the city council can place a Charter change question on the ballot. The November election is shaping up to be a dandy. From Dan Bell, Daily Edition:
