Say You're Sorry
| Some of you folks owe someone a big apology. A bunch
of you all were really dogging on LCHS principal, Chip Orr, for changing
the time of the graduation. I understand it had been scheduled for 7:00
pm, last Friday. A week and a half before the ceremony, Mr. Orr changed
the time of the graduation from 7:00 pm to 10:00 am to avoid the hottest
part of the day. I got your emails and saw your social media posts ripping into Mr. Orr for the change. Some even started a letter writing campaign. In the end, the event took place at the scheduled 10:00 am time. The weather was mild and cooperative and the time change didn't seem to keep very many away based on the crowd size. By the 7:00 pm time, it had been miserably hot all afternoon and just about the time folks would have been gathering for the 7:00 pm ceremony, a massive storm swept through. Mr. Orr may have just been lucky on the call to change the time, or he may have had a premonition. Whatever the case, the change allowed LCHS to have a great event I understand. So pull up your big boy/girl britches and tell Mr. Orr you're sorry for the way you acted. |
