Sarah Update
So many of you have been so
kind to offer your prayers and support for Sarah and I as we tackle her
cancer diagnoses. I wanted to give you an update. Her surgery went very well according to the doctor with no complications. He said he saw no obvious signs of cancer but wouldn't have expected to. He said he would have information on the cancer when pathology report was back, in about two weeks. The surgery started about 11:30 Friday morning and took about an hour and a half. She was in recovery and post op for a few more hours. She was able to come home same day. She was a little sore Saturday but is doing great now. Back in November, Sarah was diagnosed with Type 2 Uterine cancer. The first step in the process was a full hysterectomy, done. Hope is that the cancer is contained in the uterus, if so, she will be done and no other treatments will be necessary. If the cancer has advanced beyond the uterus, she may have to have radiation and or chemo treatments. Now we're just on a two week wait. We're hoping and praying that the cancer is contained and the surgery will take care of it. But whatever the outcome, we plan to hit it head on and fight it with all we've got. We can not express to everyone how grateful we are to everyone who has been so supportive for us. Keep us in your prayers for the next couple weeks as we wait on the report. As a side note, Having been married for going on 43 years, we know each other pretty well. Sarah wanted me to post an update to her Facebook page after the surgery to let our family and friends know how things went but I told her I really didn't want to do that. So she provided the three options to post cause she knew I'd do it for her. She was ready for all outcomes.
1. Hope for this one.
Sarah is out of surgery and doc
reports all went well. She is in recovery now for a few hours and we
should be going home sometime late this afternoon. We won't know any
details about the cancer until we get the pathology report in a couple
of weeks. We appreciate all of your calls, texts, emails, but most of
all your prayers!
2. May have this one.
Sarah is out of surgery
and doc reports there were a few complications and she will be
staying overnight. He thinks she will be fine and this is
precautionary to ensure she will be good to go home tomorrow. We
won't know any details about the cancer until we get the pathology
report in a couple of weeks. We appreciate all of your calls,
texts, emails, but most of all your prayers!
3. Hope not this one.
Sarah is out of surgery
and doc reports she died.
