Rivals ready for wrestling in Loudon County
LOUDON, Tenn. (WVLT) --
There's no secret Lenoir City and Loudon school athletics have a
bitter rivalry on the football field, but for one night the two have
placed their differences aside for a good cause.
On Friday, June 8, both programs will meet at Loudon
High School for "Fight Night," a night of professional wrestling
hosted by Bandit Wrestling.
All money raised will benefit the two youth football programs in both Lenoir City and Loudon. Known as the "Battle of the Bridge," Lenoir City High School and Loudon High School face off every year on the gridiron for bragging rights, but the rivalry roots runs deep, even to the youth football leagues in both towns. Lenoir City Youth Football League and Loudon Youth Football are in need of new equipment and pads, according to Travis Cozart, a former standout athlete at Lenoir City. "Money will go towards pads, equipment and helping with the concession stands at games," said Cozart. |
