Rezone Tabled
| At the last county commission meeting, the rezone request for a
potential 26 lot development on Hwy. 321 and Friendsville Road, was
tabled until the March commission meeting. The request to table came
from the developer, Turner Homes. The reason for the request is unknown
however, the developer may have been afraid the request to rezone may
have been denied preventing the developer from bring another request
back for six months. The developer is asking for a rezone to R-2 for the 17.39 acres of land. The property is currently zoned agricultural, A-1. An R-2 zone class would allow for two homes per acre while the A-1 only allows for minimum 5 acre lot. There were several community members in attendance to object to the proposed rezone.
