Reverend Gamble was a minister in Lenoir City for many years.

On Friday, December 15th, Reverend Glenn C. Gamble of Walland was called home to his eternal home in Heaven by the Savior he loved and preached about for over sixty years. His first birth was July 8, 1941, to Glenn B. and Edith Gamble. His second birth at age 14 defined his life’s purpose, and he diligently studied God’s Word and followed a call to preach the gospel on July 4, 1962. He faithfully ministered throughout his life, pastoring seven churches, preaching in many states and countries, and through his final months in medical facilities and from his bedside, sharing his faith, hope, and love to all.

While attending U.T. he was drafted into the Navy. He graduated from Carson-Newman and attended Southern Seminary. He simply and humbly followed Christ in a life of sacrificial service, making him a wonderful pastor, husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, and a friend to all. He was a member of Broadway Baptist Church and served a few years on staff.

He is preceded in death by his parents and great grandson, Elias Park. He is survived by his wife Sandra and daughters and sons-in-law, Vicki and Bill Vest, and Ginger and Jeff Palmer; his grandchildren and their spouses, Micah Vest and Michael Nicolo, Jerrica and Tyler Park, Jandi Palmer and boyfriend Donnie Haire, Will and Angel Vest; his siblings and their spouses, Jim and Sue Gamble, Sue and Leon Rayfield, Dick and Linda Gamble, Jan and Charles Williams, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Broadway Baptist Church in Maryville will hold the Receiving of Friends from 3-5 p.m. on Wednesday, December 20th, with funeral following. Rev. Tony Collins, Rev. Bill Vest, and Rev. Will Vest officiating. Graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday morning, December 21st at Kingston Memorial Gardens, with military honors conferred. Click Funeral Home, 109 Walnut Street in Lenoir City is in charge of arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to our church’s building fund, “Catch the Vision,” or the Gideons. Special thanks to our daughters, their families, our church family, friends, and medical teams who have given exceptional help and comfort during this journey.
