Report Released
The investigative report on the incident between
Loudon County Director Of Schools, Jason Vance, and Loudon High school
basketball coach, Josh Graves has been released. The investigation
spanned six weeks and cost more than $35,000.00.
The conclusion of the report was that both Vance and Graves contributed to the escalation of the situation and recommended disciplinary actions for both but no termination for either. The report is extensive, interviewing many people both inside the school system and out. It emphasizes that Mr. Vance was guilty more of over-parenting than anything and needs to learn to better separate his parenting title from his director title. On Mr. Graves, the report states, "Mr. Graves appears to be a young, inexperienced but talented teacher, and coach..." The report also finds that Mr. Graves did in fact forward the private email from Mr. Vance to persons who were not entitled to see the email in violation if federal FERPA law. The total cost of the entire investigation to date is over $53,000.00 with the final legal bill not yet submitted by the law firms. As soon as the final bills come in, I'll report the total. Below is a link to the redacted report. |
