Police probe missing funds
Lenoir City Police Department is investigating
missing cafeteria funds from Lenoir City Intermediate/Middle School.
Lenoir City Schools turned over information regarding
missing funds to the LCPD earlier this month, Jeanne Barker,
superintendent, said.
“We had concerns regarding some missing funds,”
Barker said. “... The police department is handling that, and the
last they told me, they were turning it over to the (district
attorney’s) office. So that means the investigation is ongoing.”
LCPD Sgt. Lynette Ladd is leading the investigation,
but no additional information could be released because it is
ongoing.
Linda Robinson, who was manager of the LCIMS
cafeteria during the time the funds went missing, announced her
retirement from the position Feb. 22 in a one sentence,
handwritten letter.
Robinson did not return a request for comment.
