News Herald Arrest Report
Philly woman arrested after break-in
A Philadelphia woman is facing assault and aggravated
burglary charges after law enforcement responded to a call June 4 of
a burglary in progress.
Dispatched to the 800 block of Nelson St., Loudon
County Sheriff’s Office Cpl. Brian Smith found Courtney Darlene
Brown being held at gunpoint by the homeowner. Brown was then placed
into custody.
“(The homeowner) stated Ms. Brown forced her way into
the house and pushed his elderly mother … to the floor and ran
through the house and into the bathroom,” Smith wrote in a report.
“(He) stated he did not know who the female was (and) he retrieved
his revolver from his bedroom because he was in fear and to defend
his mother.” The man told Brown to come out or he would shoot
through the wall.
Brown eventually came out and was held at
gunpoint until law enforcement arrived.
The elderly woman claimed she got out of bed to
eat when she heard a noise outside. She started to open the
front door when a female pushed it open, forced her way into the
house and pushed the woman to the ground.
The woman said the female continued through the
house until the woman lost sight of her, Smith wrote in his
report.
Brown 33, was charged with aggravated burglary
and assault and held on $22,500 bond.
