| More new candidates and more candidates qualified.
The Lenoir City election has more candidates. New
council candidate, Trevor Branson, has qualified to run for council.
Lenoir City attorney, and former city judge, Robin McNabb has picked up
a qualifying petition for council. Still no other mayor candidates
except, Aikens and Collins and even though, anyone in Loudon County can
run for the city treasurer position, no one but incumbent, Loudon County
resident, Jim Wilburn, has qualified for that seat. That position pays
about $90,000.00 per year plus benefits.
Incumbent Greenback mayor, Dewayne Birchfield, has
qualified for re-election and incumbent alderman, Delmar Davis, has also
qualified for re-election.
In Loudon, Brendan Deboer, has picked up a petition
for city council. Jimmy Parks has withdrawn.
Two more Philadelphia, two more have qualified to run
for alderman.
Candidates for any of the positions below have until
this Thursday, 8/15, Noon to qualify.
