Gary Ubben, who currently holds the 5th district, seat "A" school board position and had picked up a qualifying petition to seek re-election to seat "A" has withdrawn his petition to run for seat "A". Instead, he has picked up a petition to run for re-election in 5th district seat "B". Seat "B" is currently held by Jeremy Buckles. Buckles has not yet picked up a petition to seek re-election to seat "B".

So the conclusion would be, either Buckles doesn't plan to seek re-election or Ubben is planning to run against Buckles. Given their close political alliance, it's likely Buckles doesn't plan to run again.

This now leaves Brian Brown as the only candidate running for 5th, seat "A". But also Tuesday, Blake Mckinley and Robert Dishner picked up petitions to run against incumbent Ubben in seat "B".

Confused yet? Don't get to settled. Candidates still have till April to qualify to run for office in August so we could still see a lot of other changes between now and then.
