Man's body recovered after jet
ski crash in Lenoir City
LCSO said an adult disappeared in the water while trying to help a child after a jet ski incident LENOIR CITY, Tenn. — UPDATE (11:25 p.m.): Loudon County search crews recovered the body of a man who drowned after a jet ski crash on Thursday night, according to the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency.
According to the
Loudon County Sheriff's Office, the incident happened around
8 p.m. at the Fisherman's Boat Ramp off Highway 444 in
Lenoir City.
LCSO said two children and an adult were involved in a jet ski crash near the shoreline of the boat ramp area. The two children were wearing life jackets when the adult went into the water to help one of the kids who fell into the water. LCSO said the man was not wearing a life jacket before he disappeared in the water. TWRA spokesperson Matt Cameron confirmed both children were safe and accounted for. "Multiple agencies responded to the scene, including the Loudon County Emergency Management Agency, Greenback Fire Department, Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency (TWRA), Priority Ambulance Service, Lenoir City Fire Department, Lenoir City Police Department, and Loudon Fire Department. Search and rescue operations are actively underway," LCSO said. TWRA said the man was from out of state and that they would release his identity on Friday. |
