As you approach the intersection from Knox County, there are two left turn lights and two thru lights. While there are two turn lanes, there is only one thru lane. Often times, a car in the center turn lane will be confused and attempt to go straight through along side the car that is actually in the correct lane.

But no matter how confusing the extra red light might be, the intersection as a whole is way better than it was.

I'll see if I can find out why TDOT thought the extra light was a good idea.
