The old waterline in place now is a 6 inch line that's 60 years old and has blowouts too often. The new line will be 8 inch which will allow for fire hydrants at least every thousand feet. It will be located on the south side of the highway in much the same area as the existing line. The money for the new line came from a federal grant. 

The construction can begin as soon as all the paperwork is completed.
