New School 13,
All Bids Are In
All bids are in on all the proposed Loudon County
school building projects. The good news is, all combined, the projects
came in at about $16,633,250.00 under estimates. This just includes all
building projects. There will still be 5-10 million in across the board
expenses like architectural fees, TDOT Fees, fire marshal reviews, FF&E
(furniture fixtures and equipment), testing and inspections, etc.
The great news is, all projects and costs came in millions under estimates.
No bids have been awarded yet and won't be until the county commission issues the bonds to to pay for the projects. All bids are still being evaluated. The lowest bids don't always mean the best bid.
The
Philadelphia school addition includes, 11 classrooms and a new
auditorium. For those that might be new here or might not remember, below is a link to a presentation of the projects. |

It actually came in at $81,850,000, nearly 12.5 mil under estimate. That's great news. , was estimated at $6,782,940.00. It actually came in at $5,851,600, $931,340 under estimate. Another win. was estimated at $762,710.00 at came in at $1,015,000.00, $252,290.00 over estimate. Not too bad. Overall, with 3 of the 4 bids in, the building program is now a little over $13,000,000.00 under estimations and that's good for everyone. The only project remaining un-bid is The estimated cost is $9,796,200.00. The bid opening for that project is set for April 17. Hopefully it will come in at estimate or below. Construction on all four projects could begin this summer. Education in Loudon County is about to change forever. |
