Mystery Solved
Mystery solved but reason still not clear. Charlotte Waller with the Loudon County Highway Department called this morning to give the details on the sign change at the Knox, Loudon County line on Hickory. Ms. Waller explained that two or three months ago, her office began receiving calls about the road name change. Knowing Loudon County hadn't made any changes, she contacted Knox County officials. Sure enough, Knox County had taken it on themselves to make the change. They said their 911 system identified that section of road as Hines Valley. So rather than just correct the 911 map, they just decided to change the name of the road. Only in government can you find this kind of logic. Thanks Ms. Waller for the update. Now we know. |
