Myers Sentenced
After a years long delay,
Christina
Erin Myers learned her fate last Thursday in an hour and fifteen minute
hearing. The Judge sentenced Myers to 63 months in Federal Prison, the
maximum allowed under federal sentencing guidelines, with three years of
supervised probation upon release.
Myers pled guilty to wire fraud and a money laundering scheme to defraud the elderly back in November 2019. She was originally charged with an additional five counts that were later dismissed. Attorneys for the United States and Ms. Myers were allowed to make final arguments to support their positions. Myer's attorney, Greg Isaacs had been requesting a reduced sentence even down to home confinement based on Myers, personal status, age and remorse. The prosecuting attorney argued for the max based on the severity of Ms. Myers actions. Aside from her incarceration, Judge Katherine A Crytzer, ordered Myers to pay restitution in the amount of $405,840.34. In her statement, Judge Crytzer stated that Ms. Myers had defrauded 17 elderly victims including a disabled veteran and disabled individuals. She also stated that Myers "preyed on vulnerable victims". When Ms. Myers was given an opportunity to make a statement, she tearfully said she never meant to hurt anyone and wanted to apologize to everyone. The judge told Myers, the bureau prisons would contact her as to when to report to prison. Click Here To Download Audio Of Judge's Sentencing
