Murfreesboro woman killed in Loudon County crash on I-40
A Murfreesboro woman has been identified as the victim of fatal, single-vehicle crash along Interstate 40 in Loudon County Thursday night. The victim, Brandie Giblin, 29, was behind the wheel of a 2009 Honda Accord when it veered off I-40 East, near mile marker 367, behind a guardrail and struck a utility pole shortly before 9 p.m., according to a Tennessee Highway Patrol crash report. Giblin's passenger, 31-year-old Stephen Cole, also of Murfreesboro, was injured. His condition was not immediately available Friday morning. Giblin was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash, although it likely would not have made a difference in the outcome, investigating Trooper Rick Ray noted in the report. There was no sign of alcohol or drug use. |
