Ms. Thomas McJunkins was the wife of long time
Highland Park principal, Earl Thomas. She was a long time educator
at the school her self.
Lena
Thomas McJunkins of Lenoir City, passed away Saturday, October 8,
2022 at her home. She loved music and enjoyed singing for many years
with the VocalAires as well as the choir at Highland Park Baptist
Church. She retired after many years of service from Highland Park
Elementary School. Lena was preceded in death by her husband, Earl
Thomas; parents: Richard C. and Ella Pearl Harrell Wilkins;
brothers: Linton Ray Wilkins, Bill Wilkins, Raymond Wilson, and
Clifford Wilson; sisters: Mildred Moore, Zelma Lonas, Ruby Galyon,
June Bledsoe, and Mattie Holbrook. Survivors include her husband:
Raymond McJunkins; sons, Bill Thomas (Jan) and Rick Thomas;
daughter, Deborah Thomas; sister, Shirley Shoemaker; brothers, Mack
and Mickey Wilson; grandchildren: Mindi McNabb, Mitch Thomas, Dustin
Squibb, Cody Squibb and several nieces and nephews. Friends may come
by Click Funeral Home in Lenoir City on Tuesday, October 11th to pay
their respects. Family and friends will gather at the funeral home
by 10:30 Wednesday morning and proceed to Roberson Cemetery in
Loudon for 11 a.m. graveside services with Rev. Eddie Click
officiating. Click Funeral Home, 109 Walnut Street in Lenoir City is
in charge of arrangements.
