MOU Passes
Loudon City council met in a special called meeting
Monday. The meeting was to consider again, the memorandum of
understanding between the city and Loudon County for a parcel of
property beside the Loudon Police Department to build the New County
Annex. The vote passed with only one no vote by councilwomen, Tammy
Bivens. The MOU calls for a long term by the county from the city for
one dollar per year.
The county will consider the MOU at their August workshop. When all the details are reached, and core drills deem the property buildable, construction could begin quickly. County commission has already action to secure the $7,000,000.00 for the construction of the new facility which will house the courts and offices dislocated by the courthouse fire. |
