KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) -- A total of 18 new laws are making their way into 2020, taking effect Jan. 1. Some of the laws address the public service, medical and educational fields.

The law that got the most attention is one that will allow Tennesseans to complete online training courses in order to get a concealed carry permit. The course is 90 minutes long and participants are not required to fire a gun during the training.
