More Growth Issues

Last month, I posted a story, Cramming Them In, where the Tellico Village POA was touting major growth in the village. The story was very positive. Earlier this month, the POA sent letters to the village homeowners warning them of a problem with their water supply. Seems someone forgot to calculate how much water the village would need and how big the pipes needed to be to supply that water.

The letter below lays out the plan to forestall the need for ten million dollars in waterline upgrades to supply the needed water. The letter also seems to state that the POA plans to, financially punish, those that use too much water, with higher rates.

Sounds very California.

Incoming water isn't the only problem. The POA is in the process of construction for a million gallon, above ground tank to store sewage. Cost is estimated at about 2.5 million. This time the problem is with Loudon Utilities, LUB's, ability to take all the village sewage continuously. The new tank would all the POA to hold the sewage until LUB can take it at the treatment plant.

Residential growth is good though, right?
