Money Laundering?
I had a reader with a lot better memory than me,
reminded me that not only had the Lenoir City school administrators
blown more than a million dollars on their white elephant building down
town, but just a couple years ago, they decided to donate $100,000.00 to
the construction of the Harrison Road project. Now they're out of money? Maybe in a round about way, the city can get the sales tax revenue increase back from the schools in a different way. They say the tax increase is for safety, so could the schools decide buying police cars and fire trucks for the city as a safety expense? Paving roads is certainly a safety issue. Can't have busses driving on bumpy roads. Sales tax to the schools, schools pay for city services, everybody happy. I say this half joking but knowing anything's possible. If the school system would pay for city street projects, what else would they be willing to buy for the city? |
