| Monday was the first day for qualifying petitions for
the November election. Greenback, Lenoir City, Loudon and Philadelphia
will hold elections. Loudon will only have two council seats on this
election. The rest are on their regular election cycles.
As you can see below, Lenoir City incumbents are wasting no time getting their names on the ballot. No challengers have stepped up yet. In Loudon, out going Loudon County school board member, Kenny Ridings, has picked up a petition to run for a council seat. The two incumbent council seats are held by Bear Webb and Eric Newman. Petitions are available through August 15th.
