Mom charged with DUI had kids in car
A Lenoir City woman has been charged with driving
under the influence after law enforcement responded to a call that a
woman with two children had stopped her car and appeared impaired.
Lenoir City Police Officer Jeremy Dishner located a
white Audi in a gas station parking lot June 11 on U.S. Highway 321.
Christina Lee Devaney, 31, the driver, had her 7-year-old and
7-month-old daughters with her.
Dishner reported that Devaney had slurred speech and
was “lethargic in answering questions.”
Reports show Devaney is prescribed several
narcotics, including Alprazolam, Buprenorphine and
Methylphenidate.
Dishner wrote that Devaney was “unsteady on her
feet upon exit from the vehicle” and that she “performed poorly
on (the) standardized field sobriety test, as well as poorly on
advanced roadside impairment detection enforcement tests.” The
tests were conducted by Loudon County Sheriff’s Office Sgt.
Jerramie Bowen.
Devaney told officers she took half of an
Alprazolam, and she snorted one of the Buprenorphine 8-milligram
tablets. She was charged with driving under the influence and
released on $2,500 bond.
