Missing teen from Georgia found during traffic stop in Loudon County

PHILADELPHIA, Tenn. (WATE) — A man is facing charges after a missing teenager from Georgia was found during a traffic stop in Loudon County.

The Loudon County Sheriff’s Office shared that Patrol Deputy Justin Parks pulled over a vehicle after it reportedly failed to maintain its lane on Interstate 75 in Philadelphia around 11 p.m. on Monday.

During the stop, Parks noticed that the passenger, a 15-year-old girl, was a missing/endangered juvenile out of Georgia. LCSO said the further investigation found that the driver, Joshua Workman, was attempting to take the teen to Ohio.

“Great work Deputy Justin Parks on locating this missing/endangered juvenile and arresting the person responsible for these crimes,” wrote LCSO on Facebook.

LCSO said the teen was returned home to her parents. Workman has been charged with harboring or hiding a runaway child, contributing to the delinquency of a minor and violation of alcoholic beverage laws.
